Festival kickoff


Berks Country Fest Kickoff festivities begin at 6 a.m.!

6-9 a.m.: WEEU Morning Show broadcasts live from FirstEnergy Stadium

9:35 a.m. Fightin’s 15th annual morning game

Noon to 3 p.m.:  United Way Celebrity Softball Game – WEEU, Reading Eagle Company, Reading Eagle Press and Pretzel City Productions team members and guests show their skills and have lots of fun, all for a great cause! For more details on the softball game, click here.

3 to 5 p.m.: Good Afternoon Berks Country broadcasts live from the Peanut Bar Restaurant, 332 Penn St., leading up to the evening kickoff beginning at 5 p.m.

6 p.m. Banjo Ball & Street Strut at Peanut Bar Restaurant & along Penn Street

Dave Kline & the Mountain Folk Band will perform at the annual Banjo Ball and Street Strut. All banjoists who come to the kickoff with their banjo, ready to play, will receive a $50 gift certificate from the Peanut Bar that can be used that evening or at anytime in the future.  Dressing up in costumes, Mummers style, is encouraged.
