Berks Country Fest, now entering its third year, is a month-long festival celebrating the Americana heritage of the Reading and Berks County area, a region that is rich in Americana culture, music, arts and outdoor recreation. The festival is anchored by its flagship music series, the Americana Music Concert Series, made up of concerts celebrating the Americana music genre.
With events ranging from intimate showcases to festival-type atmospheres to shows with GRAMMY Award-winning performers, the Americana Music Concert series is gearing up for its best year yet. The Americana music scene is a unique blend of genres such as country, roots, rock, folk, bluegrass, R&B and blues, and includes some of the most loved and respected artists such as Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, Bruce Springsteen and Bob Dylan, to name a few.
Berks Country Fest also ties into what’s happening in the community by partnering with local events to create one massive Americana celebration in the month of June. Reading & Berks County, now officially coined Pennsylvania’s Americana Region by the Greater Reading Convention & Visitor’s Bureau, highlights events that assist in preserving our Americana culture. These events are put together by local community organizations that partner with Berks Country Fest and greatly enhance the fest’s Americana flavor. Events include local tours, concerts, festivals, outdoor recreation, dining experiences, concerts, cultural education and more! There are events that are free of charge, and events where tickets must be purchased for entry.
Berks Country Fest takes place every June and is Reading and Berks County’s official kickoff to summer fun! Come check it out!
