The Sound Room Connection to Berks Country Fest

Lara Hope & The Ark-Tones will headline our 5th Annual Berks Country Fest Rock-A-Billy Music & Dance Party, with live simulcast broadcast on WEEU Radio and BCTV, on Saturday, June 15, 2019, Evergreen Country Club, Fleetwood, a concert featuring several bands including Drew & The Blue, The Report, Little Lesley & The Bloodshots and Lara Hope & The Ark-Tones.  Lara and her band’s Sound Room session linked here was recorded just before she and the band left to go on an extensive, multi-month national tour in the USA opening for Rock-A-Billy royalty Brian Setzer.
Drew & The Blue came in and did a lively Sound Room session a few months ago to support their new music release.  They’ll be performing live at our 5th Annual Berks Country Fest Rock-A-Billy Music & Dance Party.
The husband and wife musical team of Elyssa & Jason Hochman are returning to Berks Country Fest again from their home at the New York Guitar Academy which they founded in Manhattan, NY.  They’ll headline our Berks Country Fest Guitar-A-Rama session with two concerts on Saturday, June 22, in the Boscov’s Theater of the Goggleworks, Reading.  Their nouveau flamenco/rhumba style combines the fire, passion and spirit of world music at its finest.  With them at Guitar-A-Rama will be The Hot Club of Reading and Reading Musical Foundation guitar students from the highly-successful Guitars After School program which gives at-risk kids in the Reading School District the opportunity to study guitar after school with professional instructor and musician Josh Taylor as they work toward graduating and earning their own Martin guitar.  Expert Americana cowboy guitarist Ernie Sites will also be a part of this special afternoon and evening of music.  In this video you can see for yourself how flawlessly Elyssa and Jason play their music as it speaks through their guitars.
Josh Taylor and the incomparable Hot Club of Reading will serve up their famous gypsy jazz, Django Reinhardt inspired material as a part of Berks Country Fest Guitar-A-Rama session with two concerts on Saturday, June 22, 2019, in the Boscov’s Theater of the Goggleworks, Reading.   Here’s the Hot Club of Reading turning up the heat during their Sound Room session.
A performer in the Berks Country Fest cast and family of musicians for years now, on Saturday, June 29, 7 to 10 pm, Sam Schmidthuber will join the Pat Garrett Band and several other entertainers to put on our Berks Country Fest Got Talent Showcase at the Miller Center for the Arts, Reading, PA.  Sam has his own style and the ability to write and deliver his original music plus classic cover songs that audiences pay attention to and love.  Here he is during his Sound Room session.
The Hannah Violet Trio will also be part of the musical cast for Berks Country Fest’s Got Talent Showcase.  You’ll love their smooth delivery of Hannah’s great original music.
The Sound Room has won BEST OF YEAR for multi-media presentations anywhere in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania three years in a row from The Pennsylvania Association of Broadcasters for radio and TV.  Due to the high production values of the video sessions recorded in the Sound Room, and the production team’s impeccable reputation for quality work, led by Reading Eagle videographers, WEEU personalities and executive producer Dave Kline, agents, talent and promoters from as far away as Nashville to Manhattan have sent their traveling musicians and bands for sessions as they pass through Berks County.  In short, the Sound Room has helped to put Reading and Berks County on the country’s musical map.
